Cooler Weather Returns Into The Weekend

JAMESTOWN – The cool and wet theme thus far this Spring will return as we progress into the weekend and into early next week. Saturday is the pick day of the weekend.

After a deep storm system passed the region overnight brining with it some heavy rain, a cold front has passed through earlier today, taking the temperatures along with it. Official highs in the 60’s occurred early this morning, dropping into the lower 50’s as the afternoon progresses.

Rain will shut off as we head into the evening and overnight, leaving us with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will drop into the upper 30’s to lower 40’s.

High Pressure builds back in on Saturday, although the temperatures will be in the lower 50’s with Partly Cloudy skies. Stateline has been unable to start racing this season due to the wet spring. They will attempt to open the season Saturday night, and although the weather looks better, the ground may still be too saturated to race from all the rain.

Mother Nature doesn’t look to be giving much for Mothers day, as another low pressure system moves into the area. It will be cool and raw with rain showers and temperatures struggling to make it past the lower 50’s.

The cool weather continues into early next week with a chance of rain each day. Temperatures will rebound sligtly  into the lower 60’s by midweek. Warmer weather will come, eventually.
