KENNEDY – A Kennedy man was arrested Thursday after a woman he was allegedly arguing with jumped from his vehicle and ran into a field. New York State Police said she, “feared for her safety.”

Austin Muntz, 22, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt.

The Troopers and Chautauqua County Sheriff Deputies responded to Route 62 and Hartson Road in Kennedy for a report of a female subject being chased through a field.

Investigation revealed that Muntz and the victim got into an argument and the victim fled from Muntz’s vehicle as she feared for her safety.

Muntz was placed under arrest after confirming there was a stay-away order directing he avoid all contact with the victim.

Muntz was processed at SP Jamestown and transferred to the Chautauqua County Jail, pending arraignment.
