A Look At Memorial Day Events In Our Area


WESTERN NEW YORK – Memorial Day is right around the corner, and there are plenty of events happening in our area to honor fallen service men and women.

Blue Star Mother’s Gold Star Memorial

The Blue Star Mother’s of Western New York will be holding their annual Gold Star Memorial Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on West Third Street in Jamestown.





For the past six years the Blue Star Mother’s have honored local men and women who have “who made the ultimate sacrifice” while severing our nation.

Jamestown Memorial Day Parade and Service





















The United Veterans Council of Jamestown will hold their annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday with veterans and their families, organizations, groups, schools and government officials lining up at 9 a.m. then continue down Prendergast Avenue 10 a.m.

Services will follow in Lakeview Cemetery’s Soldiers’ Circle.

Town of Gerry Memorial Day Parade

The Town of Gerry will hold a Memorial Day Parade Sunday at 2 p.m. The parade starts at the Gerry Fire Hall.









Village of Falconer Memorial Day Parade and Service

The Village of Falconer will host a Memorial Day parade and service at 10 a.m. Monday.

Town of Poland Memorial Day Parade and Service

Lineup for the Town of Poland’s Memorial Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. Monday at the Town Hall and step-off will take place at 11:45 a.m.

Poland’s Memorial Day Service will take place at Kennedy Riverside Cemetery on Cemetery Street, off Route 62 South, following the parade.

Town of Carrol Memorial Day Parade

The Town of Carrol will hold a Memorial Day Parade Monday at 10 a.m.

Celoron American Legion Memorial Day Service

Herman Kent Post 777, will be holding Memorial Day services at the Veterans Memorial in Lucille Ball Memorial Park on Monday at 9 a.m.

The Honor Guard and Firing Squad from the Herman Kent Post 777 will be present to honor American soldiers who gave their life in service to the nation.
