Man Charged After Allegedly Stealing Purse At Golf Course

BEMUS POINT – An Orchard Park man was arrested following an investigation into a July 18 report of a stolen purse at the Bemus Point Golf Course, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office. 

Howard A. Barco, 58, was reportedly identified as the suspect after multiple agencies assisted in the investigation. Similar thefts were reportedly occurring in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Deputies said a warrant was issued and Barco was found in the Town of Hamburg.


Barco was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment via the Centralized Arraignment Program on a charge of fourth-degree grand larceny.
