LITTLE VALLEY – The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office warned residents Tuesday about scam artists reportedly calling from Boston, NY claiming to be from Olean General Hospital.

Deputies said the number shows on caller I.D. In addition, deputies said the people claim that they’re updating their records and will ask for personal information, including Social Security numbers and bank routing numbers.

Deputies are telling people to not release any personal information or return any calls to this number.

If a similar call is received, residents are encouraged to call their local police agency.

This is the second case of scammers in the past month that have been reported in Cattaraugus County.
