Woman Charged Following Child Neglect Investigation

DEWITTVILLE – A Dewittville woman was charged Tuesday following an investigation into a possible neglect case involving a minor child, according to the New York State Police.

Troopers said their investigation revealed that the child had dozens of unexcused absences at school, and was living with a non-custodial third party for approximately eight months.

Johnson allegedly failed to provide child support during that time.

Johnson was charged with first-degree non-support of a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

She was processed and transported to Chautauqua County Jail.
