SYRACUSE – The Jamestown High School Red Raider Marching Band placed eighth during the New York State Field Band Conference in Syracuse on Sunday.

Band officials in a post on Facebook say the band scored 88.85 in the show’s National Class.

“Please congratulate any band members you may see on their amazing 2019 season,” the post read. “We are so proud of the outstanding way they represent our community.”

Previously, the team was moved into the National Class after coming off a third state championship win in the last five years.

Falconer-Frewsburg’s band placed ninth in the Small School Three division with a score of 71.65.

The 46th championship show brought together over 50 of the finest high school marching bands in the northeastern United States.

The New York State Field Band Conference Championship show is the culmination of an eight-week season, which features over 60 bands in thirty-four regional competitions throughout the state.
