FALCONER – A City of Jamestown man was arrested following an early morning robbery at the Kwik Fill Gas Station in Falconer.

Town of Ellicott Police allege that 40-year-old Andrew Piatz walked into the gas station, threatened a gun and robbed the store just after 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police say Piatz stole an undetermined amount of cash and some small merchandise from the store.

He then fled on foot as responding officer gave chase. With help from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit and Jamestown Police Department, officers say Piatz was quickly taken into custody a short distance away from the scene.

Piatz is charged with third-degree robbery and petty larceny in the case.

Officers say he was held at the Chautauqua County Jail pending arraignment in the case.
