Man Arrested For Allegedly Breaking Into Jamestown Vintage Car Repair Garage

JAMESTOWN – A City of Jamestown man was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly breaking into a vintage car repair garage on E. 2nd Street.

Jamestown Police say William Purdy, 31, was detained by an employee of Dave’s Classics just after 1:30 a.m.

Police allege that Purdy was observed forcing entry into the business.


After searching Purdy’s possessions, police say he was allegedly found with property from the business and methamphetamine.

Purdy was taken into custody and charged with third-degree burglary, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
