MAPLE GROVE – On the road against the Maple Grove Red Dragons, the Randolph Cardinals walked away from the Section VI Class C-2 Quarterfinal game with a 55-54 victory with a half-court shot as time expired in regulation.

The half-court shot was made by senior forward/guard combo team captain Sydney Hvizdzak, capping off a 27 point, seven rebound and eight assist performance.

It is one of two quarterfinals games this week in which a game winning half-court shot was made, the other was by Tyler Robinson of North Collins in their Section VI Class D Quarterfinal game vs. the Panama Panthers Monday.

Randolph outscored Maple Grove 14-9 in the fourth quarter after trailing 45-41 at the end of three quarters of action.

With the victory, Randolph will be in the Section VI Class C-2 Semi-Finals at JCC vs. Franklinville Thursday with a 5 p.m. tip-off.
