Two New COVID-19 Cases Reported In Cattaragus County

LITTLE VALLEY – Two new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cattaraugus County Tuesday evening.

The Health Department says the 42nd case is a woman living in the southwest part of the county, who had no significant travel history, but experienced symptoms of the virus.

“She was given a rapid COVID-19 test at her provider’s office which indicated that she was positive for COVID-19,” said officials.











The 43rd confirmed case is a woman who resides in the northwest part of the county, who also has no significant travel history, but showed symptoms of the virus.

“She was sent to the emergency room at Olean General Hospital on May 4 where she was tested for COVID-19,” explained officials. “Her test results on May 5 indicated that she was positive for COVID-19.”

The department has now begun contact tracing for the two cases.









There is now a total of 43 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 13 active, 28 recovered and two deaths.
