Police Say 83-Year-Old Woman Hits Young Bicyclist While Riding On Baker Street

ELLICOTT – Police are releasing more information after a teen was struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening on Baker Street near the Jamestown City Line.

Town of Ellicott Police say an 83-year-old woman struck a 14-year-old male who was riding his bicycle on Baker Street Extension near Valerie Lane just before 6:30 p.m.

Police say the teen was taken by Celoron Rescue to meet a rescue helicopter at Bergman Park for transport to an Erie, Pa. hospital.

Officers did not have an update on the teen’s condition, however, they said he was alert and speaking with first responders on scene prior to the medivac.

Investigators say the driver, an Ashville resident, did not see the youth and struck him. The woman, police say, will not be charged.

There was a passenger in her vehicle at the time of the crash, police said neither the 83-year-old or the passenger were injured in the crash.
