Man Arrested With Loaded Handgun Following Jamestown Traffic Stop

JAMESTOWN – A 23-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police allegedly found drugs and a loaded handgun in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Friday morning.

Jamestown Police say Dayrone Ferguson was pulled over in the Brooklyn Square Rite Aid Parking Lot around 4 a.m.

Officers said inside Ferguson’s vehicle they allegedly found the loaded gun and a quantity of marijuana.


Furthermore, officers said Ferguson did not have a New York State Pistol Permit.

Police say he was taken into custody and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana. He was also issued a traffic ticket for failure to maintain lane.

Ferguson was taken to Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in the case.
