JAMESTOWN – A mainly dry and warm early August weekend is on tap, with heat and unsettled weather returning early next week.
For today, early morning clouds will give way to mainly sunny skies in the afternoon. Highs near 80 with dew points near 60.
Tonight, mainly clear with lows in the mid-50’s.
Sunday will see more sunshine with temperatures a bit warmer in the lower-80’s. A slight chance for an afternoon shower is possible.
Temperatures will peak Monday with highs in the mid to upper-80’s and more of a muggy feel with higher dew points. Otherwise partly cloudy with pop-up scattered showers or thunderstorms possible.
A cold front approaches Monday night into Tuesday increasing the rain chances for Tuesday, with widespread showers and storms. Temperatures will remain in the lower 80’s for the rest of the week.
After a brief retreat in the temperatures, long range temperature outlooks into mid August show a return to the heat and humidity we had in July.
