WASHINGTON — Jamestown will receive $302,569 in Community Development Block Grant funding for economic development, neighborhood revitalization and housing initiatives.

The grant was announced Friday by Sen. Chuck Schumer, who said CDBG funding is more important now than ever before because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Community Development Block Grant is a vital stream of investment that supports local economic growth, vital services to seniors and families, community revitalization, and affordable housing. Even in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, we must not forget to invest in our future, and this funding does just that,” Schumer said.

In addition, the City of Dunkirk will receive $111,257.
