JAMESTOWN – Jamestown fire crews responded to a house fire at 218 Barrett Ave. Sunday evening which resulted in the loss of three pet birds.

Jamestown Battalion Chief Cris Dahlgren tells WNYNewsNow that crews were called in for a report of a structure fire with a possible entrapment and flames showing from a window.

The flames were confirmed by a first responder through a window.

Dahlgren says the cause of the fire is being investigated, and no injuries were reported. The two people who live at the residence were reportedly not home during the fire. The Chief, however, says that the residents lost their three birds.

The fire was reportedly confined to one room, but the house sustained smoke damage on the second floor.
