32 New COVID-19 Cases Reported, Additional Fireman Tests Positive

MAVYILLE – Thirty-two new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Chautauqua County on Thursday, with another Jamestown firefighter testing positive as well.

The Chautauqua County Health Department says there are now 138 active cases, with seven new cases in Dunkirk, six in Jamestown, five in Fredonia, four in Lakewood, three in Forestville, two in Silver Creek and one in Sinclairville, Van Buren Point, Brocton, Kennedy and Panama.

Officials are continuing to monitor an outbreak within the Jamestown Fire Department. Since Wednesday they say an additional firefighter has tested positive, bringing the total to seven.


There are currently six active cases among employees and 18 active cases among residents of Tanglewood Manor; 18 employees and 72 residents associated with that outbreak have recovered.

At least 18 cases have been linked to the private event cluster in the North County. Of those seven cases are active and 11 have recovered.

There are 22 people hospitalized in Chautauqua County, that up one from yesterday’s update.



Since the outbreak started, 887 people have recovered from COVID-19, with 13 deaths and 1,038 total cases report.
