Man Charged In Sunday Evening Burglary In Jamestown

JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man is facing charges after allegedly burglarizing a home on Winsor Street last night.

Officers with Jamestown Police were dispatched to a reported residential burglary around 6 p.m. on Sunday evening.

Police say 30-year-old Mark Barnhart Jr. allegedly stole property from the home and fled the area prior to officers arrival.


Additional officers responded and located the man a short distance away. Police say they found items allegedly stolen from the home in Barnhart’s possession.

Through investigation officers discovered more alleged stolen items stashed at another residence on close to the Winsor Street location.

Barnhart is charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny.



Police say he was taken to Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in the case.
