Parts Of I-86 Near Falconer Back Open Following Tractor Trailer Fire

ELLICOTT – I-86 eastbound near Falconer reopened at 10:15 p.m. Sunday following a tractor trailer fire.

ELLICOTT – Part of I-86 eastbound near Falconer is closed due to a tractor trailer fire.

According to the New York State Department of Transportation, the eastbound lanes from exit 13, Falconer, to exit 14, Kennedy, was closed at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The DOT predicts the closure could last up to six hours.









Fire crews from Falconer, Kennedy and Fluvanna responded to the scene.

A viewer photo showed smoke extending from the front half of the tractor trailer box truck.

It is unclear if any injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
