OLEAN – Appointments for a mass COVID-19 vaccination site in Cattaraugus County are now available.

According to New York State Health Leaders, appointments start Friday at noon at the SUNY JCC Olean Campus and run through Tuesday afternoon.

To make an appointment, eligible residents must sign up online at New York’s ‘Am I Eligible’ website or by calling the state’s COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline at 1-833-NYS-4-VAX (1-833-697-4829).

The site, state leaders say, will be rolling out the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Western New York.

In total, 3,500 shots will be administered at the Olean site. Statewide New York expects to receive over 164,000 doses of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine this week.

On Wednesday, Congressman Tom Reed announced a site planned to open in Olean after an NBC report revealed the state denied Chautauqua County the opportunity to receive a mass vaccination site despite federal data.
