JAMESTOWN – A newly established scholarship is seeking donations for their upcoming rummage sale.

The George L. Barone Jr.  Scholarship Fund will hold their first annual rummage and bag sale in late May. The group is now looking for contributions to help make the event possible.

Funding raised during the sale will benefit the scholarship, which will provide a graduating student athlete from Southwestern Central High School with funding to help further their academic success.

Barone was a coach and mentor to students throughout Chautauqua County. He was recently inducted into the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame for his dedication to Baseball.

Donations can be made by calling his Barone’s daughter Brooke at (716) 456-5600 or by reaching out on the George L Barone Jr. Scholarship fund page on Facebook.

Community members can also donate online directly by visiting the Community Foundation website. Tax donation letters can be provided upon request.
