LAKEWOOD – A Jamestown man is accused of switching his old boots for a new pair during a shoplifting incident at the Lakewood Walmart this week.

Lakewood-Busti Police say 33-year-old Albert Pognant Jr. is charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny following the alleged crime on Monday afternoon.

Officers accuse Pognant swiping several pieces of jewelry and a new pair of men’s winter boots.

Police report Walmart security video captured the man switching his old boots for the new pair, as well as taking the jewelry without paying for it.

Pognant, police say, was previously restricted from shopping at the Walmart due to other alleged shoplifting incidents.
