JAMESTOWN – The Resource Center is slated to received $200,000 to construct a new home for their art program that helps people with disabilities.

Officials announced the financial commitment from KeyBank in partnership with First Niagara on Tuesday.

The money will be used to fund the Edgewater Art House, a new development that will be built adjacent to the group’s Edgewater Day Habilitation Program on Eighth Street in Jamestown.

The Resource Center looks to raise $315,000 in order to begin construction.

With money from the banks, combined with contributions from The Lenna Foundation, Filling the Gap, Inc and other private donors, they are expected to reach the funding goal.

The Center is now working with architects to finalize design plans before seeking bids for the project, which could break ground in late spring.
