STEAMBURG – A 24-year-old Steamburg man allegedly threatened to kill a woman and her children during a domestic dispute on Sunday.

New York State Police responded to a gas station in Steamburg for a report of a past-tense domestic.

Following an investigation, it is alleged Vernon Pierce, while intoxicated, pushed the woman into a wall while she was holding her child and then threatened her life, and the lives of the multiple children, while at her residence.

Investigation also revealed that the victim had an order of protection against the man.

Pierce, police say, was later located at the victim’s house and placed under arrest.

He is charged with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Pierce was processed, arraigned virtually, and released on his own recognizance.

He is scheduled to appear in the town of Cold Spring Court on a later date.
