MAYVILLE – A Silver Creek man has been sentenced in connect with a burglary and assault in Jamestown last summer.

The Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office says 24-year-old Benjamin Catalino was sentenced Thursday to an indeterminate two to six years in state prison.

It is alleged the man assaulted a woman with a bat during a domestic dispute at the corner of North Main and Crossman Street last June.

At the time police said Catalino struck the woman several times with the baseball bat and damaged the pickup truck she was sitting in, breaking out several windows.

He then, police said, fled from the scene on foot prior to officer’s arrival. Police later located Catalino a short distance away and took him into custody.

The DA’s Office says Catalino previously plead guilty to third-degree burglary in the case.
