Additional ‘Movies At The Reg’ Screenings Announced

JAMETOWN – Additional screenings part of ‘Movies at the Reg’ will take place this week.

Two films nominated for Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards will show at Reg Lenna Center for The Arts.

Minari screens Wed., April 21 at 7 p.m. Promising Young Woman screens Fri., April 23 at 7 p.m. Each is nominated for 6 Academy Awards, including Best Picture.


A tender and sweeping story about what roots us, Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to an Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother.

Minari is rated PG-13 and is 116 minutes long. n addition to Best Picture it is nominated for Best Director – Lee Isaac, Best Actor – Steven Yeun, Best Supporting Actress – Youn Yuh-jung, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Best Original Score.

Best Director nominee Emerald Fennell (Killing Eve) helms Promising Young Woman. Everyone said Cassie was a promising young woman, until a mysterious event abruptly derailed her future. But nothing in Cassie’s life is what it appears to be: she’s wickedly smart, tantalizingly cunning, and she’s living a secret double life by night. Now, an unexpected encounter is about to give Cassie a chance to right the wrongs of the past.



Promising Young Woman is rated R and is 114 minutes long. In addition to Best Picture and Best Director, it is nominated for Best Actress – Carey Mulligan, Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing.

Reg Lenna Center for The Arts will screen the remaining Best Picture nominees throughout April, including: The Father – April 28 at 7 p.m. and Sound of Metal – April 30 at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the movies are $7 per patron. Each patron will also be charged a $1 fee for additional cleaning of the theater due to COVID-19. Seating is limited due to social distancing mandates. Masks are required of all patrons. All tickets must be purchased ahead of time.

Additionally, temperature checks, contactless concession sales and social distancing markers will be in place at the theater. All patrons will be shown to socially distanced seats by ushers. All surfaces in the theater will be cleaned between movie showings.
