FALCONER – A communitywide spring cleanup is slated to take place next month in the Village of Falconer.

This is the 25th year residents in the village will hit the streets to take part in the effort hosted by the Village of Falconer and Falconer Rotary Club.

The cleanup effort will take place rain or shine on Saturday, May 8 starting at 9 a.m. at the Falconer Fire Hall on Davis Street.

Several community groups have already pledged their support, including the Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Cub Scouts, as well as teachers from Falconer Central School, the Civil Air Patrol and local church groups.

After the meeting at the hall, volunteers will be divided into groups. The participants are requested to bring rakes, gloves and any other cleanup tools they think they will need.

Once out on the town, anything from trash to twigs are slated to be picked up, placed in garbage bags and brought to the fire hall where a dumpster will be available.

After the cleanup is complete at about 11 a.m. the workers will receive a complimentary lunch back at the original meeting place.
