ALBANY – Over 50 state run campgrounds and day use areas are now open across New York.

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation says throughout the pandemic, reservations for camping were at an all time high.

Because of increased demand, DEC officials are excited to see the uptick in reservations as New Yorkers and visitors start exploring campgrounds.

To reserve spots at a DEC campground, visit the New York State Parks website and consider additional or alternative locations for recreation
