Bill Cosby Conviction, Sentence Vacated

ZUMA / MGN

PHILADELPHIA – In an unexpected turn of events, Bill Cosby has been released from prison.

This after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court vacated his conviction and judgment of sentence for sexual assault.

Cosby was sentenced in 2018 to 10 years in prison for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his home 14 years ago.

Several other women accused the former actor of similar sexual assaults.

However, Pennsylvania’s high court threw out the conviction in a split judgment.

The court ruled that Cosby’s due process rights were violated when he was charged and convicted.

Prosecutors cannot appeal the decision in the state.

Cosby’s lawyer issued a statement thanking the attorneys who worked to overturn the conviction and Cosby’s wife Camille.
