CHAUTAUQUA LAKE – A Lakewood teen is back on shore after her vessel started taking on water while boating on Chautauqua Lake Sunday.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says 17-year-old Victoria Smith’s boat was anchor near the shore of Long Point State Park when the vessel began taking on water at the stern.
Smith said there was likely a problem with the vessel bilge pump, causing the issue.
Nearby boaters came to her aid and assisted the teen to safety.
