BUFFALO – A 35-year-old Jamestown man has plead guilty to crimes against children.

The U.S. Attorney in Buffalo says that Richard LaFrance entered the plea to enticement of a minor on Monday.

Prosecutors say that in 2019 LaFrance met a 14-year-old and started chatting with them via email and text message. The communications between the two, prosecutors further, was sexually explicit with LaFrance requesting naked pictures of the teen.

In addition, investigators say that LaFrance met up with the victim at least two times and engaged in sexual intercourse with them.

The charge carries a minimum penalty of 10 years in prison, a maximum of life, and a $250,000.

LaFrance is scheduled to be sentenced in the case in November.
