Jamestown Police Make Arrest Connected To Suspicious Death Investigation

JAMESTOWN – Police in Jamestown have made an arrest connected to a suspicious death investigation of a Jamestown woman.

Jamestown Police say 32-year-old Geoffrey Ghiandoni was found inside 118 Price Street while officers performed a welfare check inside the residence Tuesday afternoon.


Police initially responded to the location after family of a woman, who has not been identified, did not hear from her for several days.

While searching the house, officers say they located a victim who appeared to have been deceased for several days. Her remains have since been sent to the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Additionally, investigators say they recovered a .22 caliber rifle, however the weapon is not believed to have been involved in the death of the woman.



Ghiandoni, who is a convicted felon, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and not legally permitted to possess the rifle or shotgun.

The investigation into the circumstances of the victim’s death is continuing, police report, is continuing with officers assisted by the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office and the FBI.
