ROCHESTER (WENY) – Wegmans is once again asking customers to wear masks while shopping in its stores.
The regional grocery store chain announced Tuesday that after reviewing updated CDC guidance, as well as state and local health departments, it is asking all customers to wear a face mask while shopping, regardless of vaccination status.
As of Tuesday evening, all employees are once again required to wear a mask in stores.
That reverses a decision less than a month ago that permitted vaccinated workers to not wear a mask if they desired.
Wegmans had initially lifted its mask requirement for fully vaccinated customers back in May.
