CARROLL – New York State Police are looking into what caused a head-on vehicle crash in Chautauqua County on Friday afternoon.
According to fire dispatch reports, the crash happened around 3 p.m. on Falconer-Frewsburg Road.
New York State Police Captain Eric Balon says a vehicle, operated by Melissa Crofka, of Frewsburg, likely drifted across the double yellow line and struck another vehicle head-on.
Both Crofka, and the driver of the other vehicle, Stephanie Cronk, of Randolph, were taken via medical helicopter to Hamot Hospital with multiple fractures and head injuries.
Balon tells WNY News Now accident reconstruction is underway to determine what caused the crash.

CARROLL – Two medical helicopters were called to the scene of a head-on vehicle crash in Chautauqua County on Friday.
According to fire dispatch reports, the crash happened around 3 p.m. on Falconer-Frewsburg Road.
The road was closed to traffic at Carlberg Road while crews worked the scene.
As of publish time, it was unclear what caused the crash, or how many injuries occurred as a result.
