MAYVILLE – The Mayberry Jungle held its grand opening after two months of preparation on Friday with a ribbon cutting ceremony at their storefront 36 S. Erie Street in Mayville.

The idea for a floral market in Mayville had excited many in the area, especially owner Ariel Cartwright who has always loved greenery.

“I’ve loved gardening and flowers since I could walk. I worked at Tops as a florist for a number of years and then had kids who have also come to love plants and flowers,” explained Cartwright. “So it’s kind of a family adventure for us.”

The shop, while being brand-new and small, wants to focus on all customers and their perfect plant necessities.

“Really building up the clientele, keeping those repeat customers by providing quality products that are gonna last for a long time,” stated Cartwright. “Providing them with the knowledge to care for those plants, you wouldn’t want to sell the wrong plant to the wrong person.”

The Mayberry Jungle is going to differentiate itself by selling not only common plants, but also more specialty plants not offered anywhere else, such as the Chinese Money plant, or the Alocasia plant. The shop also offers flowers and arrangements for all types of events.
