JAMESTOWN – A walk against Domestic Violence took place in Jamestown on Friday.

This is the 24th year the event took place part of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Sponsored by the Chautauqua County Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, the walk started at noon at the Northwest Ice Arena. It continued down Third Street to City Hall where several speakers addressed participants. Mayor Eddie Sundquist issued a proclamation at that ceremony.

Those who took part also wore purple signifying Domestic Violence Awareness.
