WESTFIELD – A man was rescued by first responders from the Chautauqua Gorge Tuesday night.

The Westfield Fire Department says the Chautauqua County’s Tech Rescue Team joined their crews and firefighters from the Village of Mayville in responding to the gorge near Route 394 just after 7:30 p.m.

The man, who first responders say was not injured, was not able to make his way back to the road.

Crews used an all-terrain vehicle to get to the scene.

The rescuers were then able to find the man and bring him to safety.
