NYS Unemployment Rate Decreases

ALBANY – New York’s statewide unemployment rate decreased last month.

The state Labor Department announced the news on Thursday.

Specifically, the agency says the rate dropped three-tenths of a percent to 7.1 percent.











This as the number of private sector jobs increased by 14,800.

That job count went up by more than 266,000 or nearly four percent.

In comparison the number of jobs in the U.S. increased by nearly five percent over the year.
