EAST FAIRFIELD, Pa. (Erie News Now) – Pennsylvania State Police have charged a Crawford County woman with homicide for poisoning an 11-year-old child.
Mary Diehl, 62, was taken into custody and placed in the Crawford County Prison on Monday.
The investigation started Sept. 6 when troopers were notified that the child’s adoptive mother, who is Diehl, found the 11 year old dead in his bed at a residence on Mallard Rd. in East Fairfield Township, State Police said.
Blood test results were obtained and showed poison in his blood, according to investigators.
State Police said the investigation is ongoing.
