JAMESTOWN – Lake effect snow is expected to return in a wintery blast on Thursday night.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 7 p.m. Thursday to 1 p.m. Friday afternoon for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties.

In total, four to seven inches of new snowfall is expected in the most persistent lake snow bands. The snow will likely target the Chautauqua Ridge and over the higher terrain of northern Cattaraugus County.

Slippery road conditions could impact the morning commute on Friday. Officials say be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.
