ERIE, Pa. (Erie News Now) – The Erie Zoo is inviting people to name a cockroach for Valentine’s Day, Galentine’s Day, Single Awareness Day or whatever you would like to celebrate Feb. 14.

People can pick one of two species of cockroach – Madagascar Hissing Cockroach or Caribbean Giant Cockroach – and “name it after your bug-a-boo, bestie, intrusive ex, or perhaps that someone you just can’t get rid of,” the zoo said.

When naming a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach for $5, you will receive:

Anyone interested can pay for their naming on the zoo’s online gift shop through Feb. 14.

All proceeds will benefit animal care at the Erie Zoo.
