LAKEWOOD – A 32-year-old Jamestown man is facing charges following an alleged theft at the Lakewood Walmart where police said he sweat threw the stolen merchandise.

Lakewood-Busti Police responded to the Walmart superstore on East Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood around 10 p.m. on Thursday for a shoplifting complaint.

Following an investigation, it is alleged William Tilyou placed several items down the front of his shirt.

The merchandise, police report, valued more than $200 and was unable to be re-sold because they were damaged by Tilyou sweating all over them.

Tilyou was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny.

Police say Tilyou was then taken to UPMC Chautauqua Hospital by the Lakewood Fire Department for evaluation of a hand injury sustained in a pervious incident.
