Transformer Fire Causes Power Outage South Of Jamestown

KIANTONE – Over 600 electric customers were without power south of Jamestown late Tuesday afternoon following a transformer fire in Kiantone.

National Grid’s outage map reported the issue around 3:30 p.m. stretching from the City of Jamestown line, through Kiantone and to the westside of Frewsburg.

Some reported experiencing a “brown out” while others reported a complete power failure.











A crew has since been assigned to restore electric, with a repair expected around 5:30 p.m.
