JAMESTOWN – A 64-year-old man is accused of threatening a firefighter with a weapon in Jamestown.

Jamestown Police say an officer was flagged down outside of the Fire Station around 1:40 p.m. Monday.

The first responder alleged the man, identified as Peter Ludwig, pointed a handgun at him before fleeing into the Jamestown Police Department station just feet away.

When the officer went back to police headquarters to investigate, they say Ludwig was spotted exiting the station’s lobby, approaching the officer outside.

That’s when he allegedly brandished the firearm. He was quickly taken into custody by the officer.

Ludwig is charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. He was held in City Jail pending arraignment in the case.
