FREWSBURG – Investigators are not able to pin-point the exact cause of a fatal Frewsburg house fire, due to extensive damage to the building.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Fire Investigation Team has released finding of their investigation into the blaze at 83 West Main Street in Frewsburg.
Deputies, who worked alongside New York State Fire Investigators, were unable to determine the exact cause of the fire due to the amount of damage the building sustained.
A deceased victim, whose name has not yet been released, was located by crews checking for hotspots throughout the home following the Monday morning fire.
The victim has since been taken to ECMC in Buffalo for an autopsy by the medical examiner’s office.
While an exact cause of the blaze will likely never be known, officials say the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
