Missing Three-Year-Old Boy Found In Lake Erie After Search Dies

ERIE, Pa. (Erie News Now) – The missing three-year-old Erie boy who was found in Lake Erie following a search Saturday has died, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Troopers were called to Northview Dr. in Harborcreek Township just after 5 p.m. to assist Fairfield Hose Volunteer Fire Department, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, the Coast Guard and other volunteers in finding the child.

Members of the Fish and Boat Commission found the boy in Lake Erie about 120 yards off the shore and took him to the Shades Beach boat launch where EMS staff was waiting, troopers said.











EMS personnel started life-saving measures on the child and took him to UPMC Hamot where he was pronounced dead just before 7 p.m., according to State Police.

Erie County Deputy Coroner John Maloney ruled the death as accidental. There were no signs of foul play, investigators said.

The victim’s name is not being released because he is a minor, and State Police are investigating.









There’s no word on how the child went missing or ended up near the water.
