Unemployment Rate Slightly Decreases In Chautauqua County

JAMESTOWN – The number of those unemployed in Chautauqua County slightly decreased last month.

Figures released by the New York State Labor Department this week indicate the county jobless rate fell to 3.7 percent in the month of April. This is the lowest rate the county noted since last fall.

This new rate is lower than the statewide figures, reporting unemployment at 4.5 percent.


As of now, the Department of Labor believes more than 900 are now employed, versus April 2021.
