Two Men Charged In Early Morning Break-in Of Jamestown Business

JAMESTOWN – Two men are facing felony charges after allegedly breaking into a store in Downtown Jamestown.

The Jamestown Police Department received a 911 call from a business neighboring 201 Cherry Street around 4:30 a.m. Thursday reporting two men were breaking into the store front next door.

The witness reports the duo, later identified as 28-year-old Steven Becker and 34-year-old Erik Morrison, were spotted carrying garbage bags inside the store after allegedly breaking in.

Officers arrived and encountered the two inside the building, who police said attempted to flee and ran west on Second Street. The officers were then able to take the duo into custody.

Both were charged with two felonies: third-degree burglary and criminal mischief. They were also charged with obstructing governmental administration.

They were transported to the city jail where they were arraigned in Jamestown City Court.
