County Humane Society Free Dog Adoptions Ending Soon

JAMESTOWN – Free dog adoptions at the Chautauqua County Humane Society are coming to an end.

The agency is applauding our community for stepping up to help clear the shelters.

Last month, the shelter was above capacity, however since launching a free adoption effort, more than half of the animals have gone home to good families.

“We had more than 40 dogs in the shelter, almost double capacity,” said Brian Paplia, Senior Programs Director. “Currently we have around 20 dogs available for adoption.”

Free adoptions continue until this Saturday. For more information, and to see the list of dogs available, visit chqhumane.org.
