FALCONER, NY (WNY News Now) – The Falconer Board of Education welcomed a new President at a special meeting on Tuesday night, this followed the resignation of former President Todd Beckerink.

Tracy Schrader, who is an acting member of the board, was nominated and elected the seat of president during the meeting to fill out the rest of Beckerink’s term.

She will keep the Presidential title through July 2023 when the President’s term ends.

“I don’t think it changes much in my attitude, that I want to do what’s best for Falconer, and the kids, and the community,“ explained Schrader. “It’s just a different chair, maybe a little more responsibility, but my heart is still in the same place.”

Right now there is an empty seat, which the board will have to fill either through appointment or special election within 90 days of the former President’s Resignation.

Beckerink has since accepted a new role within the school district.

More information on the nomination process will be on the Falconer Central School’s website.
